#100: Lake Urmia basin

Description

Lake Urmia has been dried significantly in the last two decades, and the problem is mainly attributed to  agricultural water use (over-allocation to agriculture). The Ministry of Water has been responsible for , and the Ministry of Agriculture has been responsible for agricultural production. The Urmia Lake Restoration Program, established in 2013, targeted the restoration of the lake by coordinating all activities over the basin which can directly or indirectly influence the water flows into the lake.
